I have no problem having copies all over the web ( yes please  ), but it may come with a risk and I cannot notify/update every site other then wordpress.org.

The version in this thread is nothing you are responsible for, nothing than a "fork" from your original plugin.
If you want, i am sure Atle can take out any credits from you in the plugin available on this site, but since the functions are different in the one available here i don't really understand why you have a problem with this?
