Tutorial: How To Hide Posts From Appearing on the Home Page, But Allowing Them into The RSS Feed The Task: Publishing an entry to only the RSS feed, and to a secret url that isnʼt published on the front page of your website/blog.
The Solution: Open up index.php from your theme folder (/wp-content/themes/ <themename>/index.php).
You could also do this from the Theme Editor in your WordPress back-end (Design => Theme Editor => index.php). Locate the following code in index.php: <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> Directly under that, place the following code: <?php if (in_category('###') && is_home()) continue; ?>
Lastly, you need to find the category ID that you want to skip the home page. WordPress 2.5 makes this a little hard to find, but itʼs still fairly simple.
Go to your WordPress dashboard, then to Manage => Categories. Click on the category you want to skip the home page, and in the address bar, youʼll see &cat_ID=###. Grab that number, and place it in the code above, where ### is.
Youʼre done the hard part. Now, when youʼre posting content that you want to only go to the RSS feed (skip home page), simply post it into that category.
